The Graduate Institute of Asset Management at Chang Gung University (CGU), Taiwan, invites applications for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor level. Appointment rank will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. The anticipated starting date is August 2027.
The Opportunity
We seek research-active scholars who will contribute to the Institute's development in research, graduate education, and academic service. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work advances the understanding and practice of asset management or financial institution management. Successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary academic environment and will have opportunities to collaborate across management, computing, engineering, medicine, and industry.
Priority Areas
Applications are especially welcome from candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Asset management, portfolio management, and investment strategies
Institutional investors, mutual funds, pension funds, and exchange-traded funds
Banking, insurance, and the management of financial institutions
Financial intermediation, regulation, risk management, and financial stability
Asset pricing, investments, and behavioral finance
Private wealth management, household finance, and retirement finance
FinTech, artificial intelligence, and data analytics in investment or financial services
Sustainable investing, ESG, and responsible asset management
Outstanding candidates in closely related fields of finance are also encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in finance, financial economics, economics, business administration, or a closely related discipline by the appointment date.
A strong record of scholarly achievement or clear potential to produce high-quality research in asset management, financial institutions, or related areas.
A commitment to excellence in graduate teaching, student supervision, and academic service.
The ability to teach finance courses in English. Relevant industry experience and prior teaching experience are valued but not required.
About the Graduate Institute and CGU
The Graduate Institute of Asset Management is part of the College of Management at Chang Gung University. The Institute seeks to advance research and graduate education in investments, asset management, financial institutions, risk management, and related areas of finance. Its location within a multidisciplinary university creates opportunities for research that connects finance with technology, health care, data science, and industrial practice.
Chang Gung University is a research-oriented university established by the Wang family, founders of the Formosa Plastics Group. Close connections with the Formosa Plastics Group and the Chang Gung Medical Foundation provide distinctive opportunities for interdisciplinary and industry-engaged research. Appointment and Support
Salary and benefits will be determined in accordance with University policies and will be commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and professional experience. Faculty members have access to institutional research resources and opportunities for interdisciplinary and industry collaboration.
